I’ve been a bit shite at blogging recently. Life is… well, taking some turns I never really anticipated and I’m choosing to hold off on blogging about any of it for the time being. Once I’m ready to share I assure you I will be posting plenty.
Hey, anyways, I finally got to get away for a few days and it was lovely. Some friends and I went down to fly on the flying trapeze rig down in London (our Glasgow facility is still closed). It was great, especially since the London peeps usually come up to our rig here in Glasgow and now we’ve finally made our way down to them. This was my first time in London. It was a super quick trip but I do hope to go back post-pandemic and explore some more. It was sooooo damn hot down there when we went, anything in my bag that could melt absolutely did so (at least 35C/95F). We had such a fabulous time. Our hands would tell you otherwise, but we really did have a great time. Oh, and yes we did wear masks the entire duration of our commute (5 to 6 hours both ways).
For your entertainment, here’s a pic we took on the trainride back home. The grossest hands belong to my friend Helen and myself (I’m the one with the freckled arms)

When is the last time you went away on a trip with your friends? Just you, not you and your partner, just you and your friends. I know it’s not always easy to do, especially in the middle of a pandemic, but I’m realising this is something I need to make a habit of doing. The last time I went away with a friend was a few years ago. It’s good for the soul. This trip was another reminder to me of how many extraordinary, strong, and independent women I know. I feel so fortunate to have these women in my life. I’m at a point in my life where it’s incredibly important to me to lean into friends and not shut myself off as much. I like my own company, I think I’m pretty ok for the most part, but I do need my friends and I value the wisdom, laughter and light they bring into my life.
I’m going to keep this post short. I hope this post finds you well. What a year. *insert maniacal laughter here*
